If you are living on your own or with family, you can also choose to spend the day with us through our structured Adult Daycare. Just as with our full-time residents, our professional staff will work closely with you, your family members and physician to create a Personalized Service Plan tailored to your needs. At the same time, you will meet new people and enjoy meaningful activities that enrich your life.
Adult day care primarily focuses on providing care for people with a specific chronic condition such as Alzheimer’s Disease or other related forms of dementia. Additionally, these services may be available for any adult with disabilities or any adult needing or wanting temporary care or companionship.
Attending adult daycare can prevent people from needing to be re-hospitalized and may delay their full-time admission to residential long-term care. For participants, who would otherwise stay at home alone, social stimulation and recreational activities have been known to improve or maintain physical and cognitive functions. The more severe the disease, the greater the burden on the caregiver.
The facilities at TTP are beneficial to many by providing stimulating interaction with other people which has been known to improve a participant’s health and emotional well-being. The facilities at TTP are monitored and staffed for the protection of participants as well as being a helping hand for new people having trouble connecting with others or for those do not feel comfortable in certain environments. The objective is to build up confidence and the ability to maintain an independent lifestyle along with improved physical and mental health.
Another important aspect of adult daycare includes healthy diet plans and exercise regimes suitable for certain people. In Adult Day Care, participants are introduced to new activities which may spark a new interest or hobby.
